Chapter 1886
"Well..."
With a loud cry, the man held his head and took a step back. A few bills fell out of his hands, and he hurriedly bent down to pick them up. "You're just a prostitute so why are you so arrogant? The fact that I am interested in you means that I think highly of you. Aren't you still going to take all your clothes off even though no one is looking at you? Don't be ignorant of what's good for you!"
"Haha..."
Carolien sneered and didn't even bother to look at him.
"What's wrong with prostitutes? Prostitutes are also expensive! Do you think everyone can afford them even if they want to? You can't even afford to buy nice clothing, let alone a prostitute. Aren't you ashamed to swindle us?"
"What did you say? You b*tch!"
"I say you're short and poor! You're ugly! You dare to crave something out of your league! If you have money, go and find a wife. If you don't, find a place to hide and don't come out and embarrass yourself! Do you think it's still in the olden days when we are all poor and you can get a woman just with pieces of cloth? Have a look at yourself in the mirror! Do you have money, good looks or a good attitude? You look cheap and ugly. Do you think all women are blind or stupid? If you want to take advantage of others, go back and clean up yourself first. You make me sick, you old man! Keep your money for your funeral! Bah!"
Carolien tiptoed, put her hands on her hips and concentrated all her emotions. After spitting out her words without even pausing, she rolled her eyes disdainfully.
On the other hand, the man's face turned red with anger as she scolded him. He trembled from anger and said,
"You? You! You-"
"How many times are you going to repeat yourself? You can't even speak coherently so just shut up! Get out of here! Are you waiting for me to call for the police or for your mother to call you home for dinner?"
Where did he get his confidence from?
How dare he take out just that measly amount of bills? Those bills were less than her pocket money!
D*mn!
"You?" The man was so angry that he couldn't speak. He pointed a finger at her but didn't say a word for a long time.
"What, you plan to hit me?"
"Don't think that I dare not!"
"Touch me if you dare!"
As Maaike came out, she saw this scene. The man grabbed Carolien's wrist and they were fighting. She was shocked by the chaotic scene. She ran towards them and shouted,
"Hey, stop fighting! What's wrong with you two? Do you need help? Isn't it better to speak amicably?"
"Stop, don't fight. My brother is the police who will pick me up later! You both should calm down and let him handle it. He should be here soon!"
"Almost here! Everything can be solved, I urge for him—"
Looking like a third party who had stumbled into this, Maaike took out her mobile phone. Before she finished her words, the man angrily shook his hand, turned around and strode away.
"A good man doesn't fight with a woman. I don't want to bother myself with you!"
Watching the man disappear completely in her sight, Maaike patted her chest and took a long breath. After standing there for a while, she turned back and glared at Carolien, who was in a mess and panting heavily. Then she stepped forward quickly, bent over and picked up a high-heeled shoe from the ground. She turned around and puffed her cheeks. Then she threw the shoe on the ground again loudly. Standing straight, she raised her hand and poked Carolien's forehead hard.
"Did you take the wrong medicine? How could you make trouble in this place and fight with a man?"
Who did she think she was?
What if she smashed something or hurt someone? Based on her strength, how could she defeat that man?
Who was the one who believed that 'peace brings money' and 'compromise makes resolving conflicts easier'? How dare she be so angry when she was not in her own territory? And she even exploded to such a degree, how did she not blow herself up?
Carolien pursed her lips, as if she was a child being scolded by her parents. Carolien's anger dissipated and her eyes were tender and coquettish. She lifted her foot and wore her shoe. She apologized in a gentle tone,
"Maaike..."
Wasn't she in a super bad mood just now? She did not want to deal with the man who would make her feel disgusted!
After throwing a tantrum, Carolien realized how dangerous the situation was for her!
It was a good thing that the man was a good-for-nothing and could not rebut her words. If it was someone like Elijah or anyone with money and attitude, she would have been crushed!
To put it bluntly, money was akin to confidence!
In front of a particular person, she was probably as timid as the man just now! Thinking of that someone, her beautiful eyebrows furrowed slightly.
With her finger pointed at Carolien, Maaike was so angry that she was wheezing but at the same time, her heart ached.
Holding her arm, Carolien did a three-finger salute and said, "I was wrong, okay? I promise I will never do it again! Don't be angry, Lady Maaike. Let's go back!"
"Ha ha..."
She found her cute and miserable face funny and couldn't help but snicker lightly. Maaike gave in and said.
"Oh, you!"
She really didn't know what to say! With such an expression, she could not decide whether she should be angry or not!
"Hee hee, let's go, let's go home and talk about it! It'll be bad if that
disgusting man came back again!" The two people had a tacit
understanding and often cooperated
with each other like this. It was useful against strangers who didn't know them.
As their eyes met, Maaike turned around and grabbed her hand. Then she kept talking without any rest.
"Yes, yes, hurry up! Can you bring your brain out in the future and restrain your fiery temper? Stop flying into a rage! Do you really think women are tigers and men are house cats?"
"We can't be so lucky every time. What if I'm not there? What if the man knows our relationship? What if he doesn't buy our acting? What should we do then?"
"Ouch!"
"What ouch! What's the use of being obedient now? Men are not to be trifled with. We're at a disadvantage when it comes to strength! Can you restrain your temper more in the future? Don't forget, you're not alone. You can't be hurt."
"I know. I will protect myself in the future!"
...
After watching the two figures gradually disappear into the distance, only then did Elijah walk out from a corner and withdraw his gaze. His brows furrowed a few
times.
Hudson, who was in front of Elijah, turned around to see an empty corridor. Hudson was still dumbfounded. This woman was really shocking!
He thought she was a little shameless hypocrite, but she turned out to be a hot- tempered chick!
If he hadn't seen her with his own eyes, he really couldn't believe that the beautiful, shameless woman who had such a strong desire for survival that she took off her clothes in public would have such a fiery temper against others who crossed her!
Before Hudson could recover from his shock, he heard, "When did the Eighth Casino become so low-end? Can any piece of crap enter the casino?"
Elijah's face was filled with suspicion, criticism, and displeasure. Hudson was so shocked that he looked at Elijah questioningly, "Eh?"
Wasn't this
casino? Shouldn't casino be filled with all kinds of people? Wasn't
it the best place to be rich overnight or to become bankrupt? Wasn't this a place
that did not discriminate regardless of where they come from?
Hudson was completely stunned.
Elijah's face darkened as he glared at Hudson.
With a sudden understanding, Hudson came back to his senses and blurted out,
"I will ask the manager to throw them out! I will ask them to check their
backgrounds in the future!"
Seeing that Elijah's tightly knitted
brows had relaxed a little but his lips were still tightly pursed, he quickly added, "also find someone to teach him a lesson again! He dared to cause trouble in the casino and lower its standards, he is seeking death!"
After he finished speaking, Hudson raised his gaze and looked at Elijah.
"Alright."
His brows relaxed and he snorted lightly. Then, he turned around and walked to
the bathroom. Hudson almost collapsed on the wall from cold sweat.
Who did he provoke? Why was he scared twice in a single night?
His life was on the line!
He heaved a sigh of relief and turned around. Just as he was about to walk back,
he stopped and turned around to look at the washroom. He could not remember
the last time he was reprimanded! Mr. Elijah was in a foul mood today!
Suddenly, he shivered and ran all the way.
He went back to the hall and walked around. Soon, he caught sight of the oily, brown figure at one of the tables. He looked like a marmot in the crowd, his fat greasy palm trying to seduce a charming young woman. He shook his head, and
Hudson could not help sighing.
"You are unlucky today! Of all the people, how dare you compete against the Dark Night Emperor?"
He raised his hand, and with a flick of his finger, a waiter quickly walked up to him. "Hudson..."
The waiter bent down and Hudson whispered a few words in his ear with his chin
pointed in a certain direction. Hudson nodded. The waiter said, "I know, I'll
arrange
it now!"noveldrama
Soon, the man was invited to sit down, and he won a few prizes. He was holding
the chips and laughing. Someone suddenly shouted,
"What is this?"
Then, a poker card was thrown onto the table. The next second, someone
shouted, "He cheated!"
"No, no!"
Stunned, he waved his hand repeatedly. The man was so scared that he turned
over and fell off the chair. He was so scared that he peed his pants. He
stammered, trembling on the floor and did not get up.
"No, it wasn't me. I—"
What do you think?
