His Innocent Sera

Wedding Prep

"How are you?" Mrs. Jang asked. Sera hesitated, for a moment, looking over Mrs. Jang's shoulder. Mrs. Jang picked up on her subtle gesture.

"I am good. How are you?" she replied after making sure no one was around.

"I am great. Just came back from school. How old are you, by the way?" Mrs. Jang queried, clearly intrigued. Sera was caught off guard by her question.

"Why?" she asked, her smile wavered, betraying her nervousness.

Mrs. Jang shrugged casually and said, "It's just, it seems you have a huge age gap between you two. He looks in his mid-twenties, and you look barely 18. The story must be very interesting," Mrs. Jang prodded inquisitively.

"Oh. We don't have that huge..."

"You don't even have a ring on," Mrs. Jang pointed out, her brows now knitted into a frown. Sera quickly hid her hand behind her back.

"The ring was loose, so he sent it back to get it fixed," Sera answered, her voice trembling slightly. Mrs. Jang nodded stiffly.

"Why don't you come over? I'll treat you to my special tea," Mrs. Jang offered.

"Umm....Some day, for sure. Right now, my house is a complete mess," Sera replied with an apologetic smile.

"Ohh..that's okay.." Mrs. Jang waved it off before adding, "Just feel free to reach us if you need anything. She stepped closer and grasped her hand in an assured grip, her eyes giving her a meaningful look as she asserted, "Anything."

"Thank you," Sera replied, withdrawing her hand. Mrs. Jang strolled back to her apartment.

Sera closed the door, her heart pounding against her chest. They knew. She poured herself a glass of water and gulped it down, feeling anxious. She couldn't let Nate know, or he would kill them for sure.

'This one," Nate pointed towards a stunning white gown with a long train. He glanced over at Sera to gauge her face. Admiration flickered briefly in her eyes, but she gave nothing else away. The saleswoman picked out the gown and started showing it to them. It was a hand-stitched gown, exuding elegance and class. It cascaded from the sweetheart neckline to the cinched waist to highlight the bride's figure with grace. There was a long train attached to the skirt, giving it a royal look. Off-the-shoulder straps, adorned with whisper-thin lace, frame the collarbone beautifully while crystal beading sparkles along the hem. He pictured her in this gown, and that had to be one of the best imaginations of his.

"Did you like it?" Nate asked, hopefully. After going through several stores and countless gowns, only this one had caught his attention. He wanted the event to be perfect for her. Sera hummed without so much as touching the fabric. He knew she had liked it.

"Pack this," Nate commanded.

"It will be $60k." the saleswoman told him the price. Sera looked at Nate's way. The man looked unbothered by the revelation as he simply nodded his head.

The dress molded to her figure, a small part of her cleavage visible at the neckline. It was enough to give even a monk a hard on. It was enough to give even a monk a hard on. Even his imagination dulled in comparison to the reality. His most beautiful, precious reality.

She was checking out the dress as he stepped closer, standing next to her. Admiration sparking in his eyes as he looked at her through the mirro He turned his head towards

strand away from her face and whispered, "You're going to be the most breathtaking bride."

His eyes spoke of his sincerity, his voice was smoothened by honesty.

"You deserve a far expensive gown than this. I promise you, once I have my reign back, I'll bring down the world at your feet." These weren't empty words but a vow stronger than any promise etched in blood.

Sera usually didn't know how to deal with him but especially more when he says things like this.

Not able to hold himself, Nate cupped her face and kissed her mouth. The saleswoman blushed before turning away.noveldrama

Nate paid the amount, and they bought the dress.

"Where did you get $60k from?" Sera couldn't help but ask. It was a huge amount.

"I take three or four fights every day, and I also train other fighters," Nate disclosed with a shrug. Sera wasn't convinced. That much was still too much to gather in such a short span of time. Also, he was paying for the apartment and their other needs.

"They don't wanna lose me," Nate added, finally giving her an answer. Ever since he joined the underground fighting, his face has never been without bruises. It was today, she learned he was fighting three or four fights a day to collect money. The man who had never been seen in less than branded clothes was now wearing a worn-out leather jacket, which he must have picked up from some street vendor. But despite his choice of attire, he still looked magnificent. It has to be the reason why every store they visited, he was given special treatment. He saved money for their wedding. Their wedding.

Sera's heart gave a loud thud as she got hit by the weight of her reality. They were going to get married in a few days. Tears brimmed in her eyes. Marrying him would mean

didn't think she was ready for it yet. She wasn't ready for a baby either. That's why she had asked Mrs. Jang to supply her pills after Nate refused her, as he wanted nature to take its course. Now, the couple had already started to doubt them, but Sera had remained tight-lipped.

She really hoped for some miracle to happen before the wedding.
