Living With My Lady Boss

It was evening on Sealake Island when Wilbur returned. He stood on the long

bridge, overwhelmed with emotion as he let out a hint of his aura.

The island grew abuzz at once, and a series of familiar figures fought their way into Wilbur's line of sight.

Wilbur smiled, stepping onto the island slowly.

His smile grew as he came to the square, taking in the sight of Faye, Elsa, Faron, Shepard, and many others.

Everyone else stared back at him, unable to hide the emotion on their faces.

It had been so long since they had seen Wilbur, and there was no way for them to reach him. Words could not describe how much they had worried about and missed him.

"I thought you were never coming back, Wilbur." Faye was the first to speak.

Wilbur walked up to her, taking her into his arms. "I'm sorry. It'll never happen again. Everything's over now, and I'll never leave you again."

Faye's heart soared as she broke out into overjoyed sobs.

Everyone else was nothing but joyous as well.

Following that, Wilbur said, "Let's all head to my room. I've got something to tell you."

Everyone nodded, doing as Wilbur had told.

Once everyone was seated, Wilbur looked around him with a frown. "Where's Nancy?"

The crowd fidgeted anxiously at the question.

Faye hesitated, but eventually said, "Not long after you left, Nancy told me she'd decided to join a medical organization in Freeca to help the children then. It's going to be a long time before she gets back... We tried to talk her out of it, but it didn't work."

Wilbur fell silent but understood Nancy's intentions at once.

Nancy was clearly avoiding him and Faye, not wanting to be caught between the two of them.

Everyone else looked on anxiously, knowing that Wilbur felt the same way for Nancy as he did for Faye.

A long pause later, he let out a sigh. "I guess we have to respect her decision, at the end of the day. Maybe this is just fate."

The crowd heaved a sigh of relief in secret. Everyone had been worried that Wilbur would be upset or angered by this.

Wilbur knew that Nancy probably had her own reasons to stay out of his and Faye's way.

Maybe that was for the best. Everyone had a right to choose their own fate, and Nancy had made a choice for herself.

After thinking it through, Wilbur said, "I've handled everything this time, for good. So... I've decided that Faye and I will get married in three days."

The words shocked everyone, but they erupted into cheers just seconds later.

Finally, Wilbur and Faye were going to end up together after so many years.

Tears rolled down Faye's cheeks. This bliss had come out of nowhere, and it was so overwhelming!

Wilbur then said, "Due to my own circumstances, the wedding will be pretty small and held on the island itself. Our parents and some close friends will be invited, but I don't want to make too big of an announcement."

Wilbur knew that with his identity, a public announcement would summon all the elites around the world, and he would be stuck dealing with them forever.

Everyone knew this as well and nodded in understanding.

Faye was also agreeable. She had long stopped caring about material things, only wanting more than to be with Wilbur forever.

Wilbur then left the rest to be handled by everyone else, and they filed out of the room to leave him and Faye alone.

Faye looked up at him, turning scarlet in the face. "I, uh... I'll see you in three days."

The next second, he chuckled to himself. The bride was shy!

Wilbur shook his head, leaning back against the sofa. Even someone like Faye was still prone to shyness.

Following that, however, he fell deep into thought.

Wilbur no longer had any enemies in this world, and he would live on for a good few thousand years.

Yet Faye and everyone else on Sealake Island would only get one to two hundred years in their lifespan, and Wilbur would eventually have to witness all his loved ones passing on one by one.

He did not know if he would be able to handle something so painful, but it seemed like he had no other choice.

This left him in a deep, depressed daze.

Three days later, a simple wedding was held on Sealake Island.
