Chapter 416
At this moment, Adam thought his great-grandson was so perceptive. He wished he could have a whole bunch of grandchildren just like Sean. The Hamiltons were well-off, so they could even afford to raise a soccer team.
However, it was ultimately up to Nadine. If she wanted to have more children, she could. If not, just having Sean was more than enough.
As soon as Adam left, all the bodyguards in the ward followed suit. All of a sudden it was just Brad and Nadine.
Realizing she was about to be alone with Brad, Nadine slung her bag over her shoulder and made a beeline for the door without a second thought. She was well aware of what Adam was attempting to do; he wanted her to talk things out with Brad.
However, she believed they'd said everything that needed to be said. Divorce was the only option left for them. Nadine had already made herself painfully clear by posting the divorce agreement online, so she couldn't understand why Brad was refusing to go through with the divorce.
Nadine spun on her heels and walked toward the door. She had only taken two steps when Brad got in her way.
He could read his grandfather's mind like an open book. The old man was so fond of Nadine there was no way he'd allow them to divorce. Hence, as soon as Adam took Sean downstairs, he knew this was his chance to sit down and talk things over with Nadine.
Standing in her way, he remained silent while leaning against the door. His dark eyes narrowed slightly as he glanced sideways at Nadine. As usual, he was cold and aloof. He looked at Nadine coldly, as if he was warning her with a sinister glint in his eyes.
Nadine couldn't get past the door, and she didn't want to get too close to Brad. She stopped in her tracks a few steps away from him, tilted her chin up, and looked at the man towering over her.
Realizing he had no intention of getting out of her way or letting her through, she had no choice but to speak up. "Excuse me, sir, would you mind stepping aside? You're in my way."
The words "you should know when to fold 'em" were on the tip of her tongue, but she held them back.
All she wanted was to get a divorce as soon as possible. She didn't want to provoke Brad any further because the fire in her had long since died down. Now, all that was left was to settle things peacefully.
Besides, she knew that she wouldn't get what she wanted by arguing with Brad.
He was the kind who didn't respond well to confrontation. Pushing his buttons

Leaning lazily against the doorframe,
Brad looked down at the woman n front of him. Her face was still the
one he knew all too well, but now it carried an air of detachment, coldness, and newfound resolve.
When she looked at him, the warmth and affection in her eyes were long gone. There wasn't even the slightest flicker of emotion, as if she was looking at a complete stranger.
A heavy, suffocating feeling began to rise from within him. It was subtle, but enough to make his chest feel tight and uncomfortable, as though an invisible boulder was pressing down on him.
He wasn't sure why he felt this way, but he snorted and rolled his eyes at Nadine. "What did you just call me? Sir? Do you not know me?"
"Nadine sure is getting bolder," Brad sneered inwardly. He couldn't believe she was pretending not to. know him. It seemed he had been far to lenient with her recently, giving her the false impression that he was easy to deal with.
Nadine tilted her chin slightly and met his cold gaze. Her expression remained impassive as she responded, "No, I don't."
