Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance

Chapter 1235

After the couple disappeared, Andre wrapped his arm around his wife's shoulder. "What were you two chatting about for so long?"

Mia replied with a smirk, "Oh, just a mix of things I should and shouldn't know."noveldrama

Later that night, Mia was tossing and turning in bed, unable to shake off her earlier conversation with Annie. Something about it kept bugging her.

Andre came out of the bathroom, towel around his waist. "What's on your mind?" he asked.

"I don't even know," Mia sighed, sitting up. "If I were Annie, I'd be caught in such a dilemma before the battle even started. If her sister was mean to her, she'd have an easy choice with Conner. Or if Conner was a total player, Annie could just side with her sister. But it's not that simple! They both love her."

Leaning against the headboard, Mia continued, "Trying to see it from both sides, I get why Maja's upset and why Conner's doing what he's doing. Why can't life be just black and white? Why all this messy gray?"

Being in love herself, Mia thought that if someone powerful hurt her husband, she'd probably do whatever it took to get back at them.

But if Conner didn't fight back, he'd be in real trouble. With the proverbial knife to his throat, he had no choice but to defend himself.

Mia was tangled up in a situation that wasn't even hers, so she could only imagine how Annie managed to stay composed and pursue criminals. Mia really admired her for that.

Andre, already in bed and skipping the pajamas, snuggled up to her. "Life's simple; it's just folks who complicate it. Let's sleep. These aren't things for your pretty little head to worry about. You should be focusing on me." He pulled her even closer.

Feeling his hand on her, Mia joked, "When are you going to spoil me like those romance novels? You know, a few million as pocket money every month and then disappearing for the year."

Andre let out a low chuckle. "Keep dreaming. That's how you earn a little punishment, like this..."

With that, he playfully pinned her beneath him.

Mia wiggled beneath the "mountain"

of her husband, her eyes dartingC around for a clever comeback. "Honey, I need my energy for studying. If you wear me out at night, I'll be useless tomorrow."

Andre, looking down at her with desire, teased, "I'm just giving you a workout. Exercise is great for your brain cells, helps you remember stuff better."

Before she could come up with another excuse, Andre's lips

captured hers. Her pajama top had slipped to her waist, and soon they were enveloped in a passionate embrace, their soft whispers barely audible. Mia blushed deeply, and Andre, deeply in love, held her close, murmuring in her ear, "Mia, you're my addiction. One taste, and I'm hooked for life."

Breathless, Mia gasped, "Poison... If I'm poison, why haven't I... Oh, I'm sorry, babe. Please, gently."

In these moments, she never had the upper hand.

Over at the hotel...

Annie had been feeling low since the kidnapping, so Easton gave her some time

off.

She had been staying at Conner's

hotel, and even with plenty of rooms,

Easton, the head of the Nettleton family, insisted on sleeping on the couch right outside the master bedroom. "You don't get it; it's all part of the plan. If Annie sees me out here, she'll definitely feel bad and let me in," he explained.

His aide sighed, "Boss, you're the head of the Nettleton family, with so many

people under you. Can't you at least keep up appearances?"
