The Double or more Life of the Fake Heiress (Mirabella)

Chapter 1703

The folks in the booth across the way couldn't help but notice Cassie and Mirabella. They were taken aback by the sight of two young Western faces. Especially since that booth was always reserved for someone pretty important from the Bureau of Defense. Over the years, nobody had ever been spotted in that booth, not even James himself.

Murray took a moment to mull it over before murmuring to his trusted aide, "Go find out who those folks are in the booth across from us."

Being seated in that booth likely meant they had some sort of unique relationship with the person from the Bureau. If they could strike up a friendship, future deals might just get a whole lot easier.

The aide glanced outside, but Mirabella was already gone from the terrace. He nodded and quickly headed out.

Back in his booth, Murray instructed another aide to head downstairs and chat with the event staff to secure one of the featured weapons. Once his orders were given, he turned to Asa, "Should I set it up for my secretary to swing by Leon's tomorrow to sign the contract?"

Capturing someone was a piece of cake for Murray.

Asa lifted his gaze slightly, "Just a heads-up, the person I want is from the Davis family."

"The Davis family?" Murray's eyebrows shot up. "You mean the Davis family from the Alliance Guild?"

Asa adjusted his sleeve casually, "Yep."

Murray's eyes narrowed at this revelation. He knew Asa's target wouldn't be just anyone. He'd even considered someone from the royal family but hadn't expected it to be someone from the Davis family. Even though the Davis family had been slowly stepping back from the gray areas over the years, their influence was still nothing to sneeze at. Plus, there was that old beef with Jim.

Murray chuckled coldly, "So what if they're from the Davis family? Think I'm scared?"

Asa's eyes glinted with a dark amusement, "I'll be waiting for your good news."

"You send me the details, and I'll make sure they're delivered to you in no time," Murray stated matter-of-factly, like it was no big deal.

Asa liked Murray's confidence, "Alright."

He grabbed his phone and sent

Murray the info on Mirabella that his assistant had emailed him. Just as Murray was about to check his. email his aide returned with some intel, so he held off on reaching for his phone.

The aide approached and quietly shared what he'd found, "Can't pin down their background, but they arrived with James."

Digging up useful info on the Bureau's turf was tough, but the aide had managed to snag an important tidbit.

After a pause, he added, "Rumor has it one of the girls might be James's girlfriend."

"Girlfriend?" Murray was genuinely surprised.

"Seems like it," the aide nodded.noveldrama

Murray rubbed his chin, deep in thought. Everyone in the know was aware that the head honcho at the Bureau was famous for his ascetic lifestyle. No woman had ever been seen by his side, despite many families in Merrywoods trying to introduce their daughters, only for none to pique his interest, fueling rumors about his preferences.

Recalling the brief glimpse of the girl he'd seen earlier, Murray remembered she

was stunningly beautiful, even from a distance.

Asa, overhearing their not-so-quiet

exchange, kept his eyes lowered, lost in his own thoughts, choosing to keep silent. He'd been wrestling with some creative block lately. Maybe a good rest tomorrow would help him. break through it.
