Chapter 1730
Mirabella's eyes glinted briefly, but she didn't bother explaining why other rare blood types couldn't be used. She simply said, "This is enough blood for now. I'll handle the rest myself."
Dr. Ray gave her a quick glance, then looked over the blood bags before nodding. "Alright, just let me know if you need anything else."
After all, someone who could whip up a serum overnight that could blend blood types probably had abilities beyond any of their hospital's experts.
"Thank you," Mirabella nodded, her gratitude genuine.
"No need to thank me, Ms. Mirabella," Dr. Ray shook his head, then added, "I'm quite interested in the serum you've developed. If it could be widely applied in medicine, it would be a tremendous blessing for people with rare blood types."
Mirabella caught the drift of Dr. Ray's words. She smiled, but it didn't quite reach her eyes. "The serum is intended for special cases and might not be great for the human body."
"That's true; no serum can truly replace human blood," Dr. Ray said wisely, deciding not to push the subject further.
Mirabella acknowledged him with a soft hum.
It wasn't that she was unwilling to share the serum's formula, but doing so would bring trouble to Dr. Ray. If a hospital casually reproduced something from the First Base, it would be more of a curse than a blessing.
Time ticked by steadily, and three hours later, Mirabella emerged from the hospital room. She hadn't slept all night and had barely eaten in the past two days, so her face had visibly thinned, and her complexion was pale and weary.
Grady had been waiting outside the room. Seeing her come out, he walked over quickly, "Miss Mira, how's Keir?"
Mirabella pressed her lips together, her voice hoarse, but she managed a light tone, "He's fine."
Grady felt a wave of emotion rise in his throat, nodding with a slight catch in his voice, "That's good, really good."noveldrama
Mirabella murmured a soft acknowledgment. "Can I go in and see him?" Grady asked, taking a deep breath.
"You can, but given Chester's condition, he might not wake up soon."
Although she had pulled him back from death's door, his injuries were severe and the extreme measures used to save him meant his recovery would depend on Chester's will to awaken.
"I understand," Grady replied with a bittersweet smile.
Keir had suffered such life-threatening injuries, and being saved was already a miracle. Even if he stayed unconscious, it was within expectations.
Soon, Grady donned sterile clothing and entered the room.
Mirabella didn't follow. She shook her drowsy head and got ready to check on Cassie.
But as she turned, a wave of dizziness hit her, causing her to stumble forward. In the next
yel
moment, a strong arm caught her waist, pulling her into a firm chest.
The familiar scent reached her nose, and Mirabella closed her eyes in relief.
James looked down at the unconscious girl in his arms, feeling both tenderness and exasperation.
Had he been a minute later, they might have had another patient to deal with.
With a soft sigh, James scooped her up and headed to the on-call

doctor's office, relieved to learn ne

"Ms. Mirabella, what's going on here?" Wyatt asked, seeing James return with Mirabella in his arms.
What do you think?
