Your Love Is But a Dream (Clara and Wren)

Chapter 239

Seeing the empty office, Katrina raised an eyebrow.

Was Carlisle really not here?

Her gaze shifted to the door in the corner, which led to Carlisle's private room. She walked over quickly, and the unlocked door opened with a twist of her hand.

There was no one inside, either.

Katrina frowned. Was Carlisle really not in the office just to avoid her?

Natty had been on edge the whole time. It was only when she saw Katrina walk out of the private room that she quietly let out a sigh of relief. "Mrs. Zachman, as you can see, Mr. Zachman is really not here. Please allow me to escort you out."

Katrina's gaze lingered on Natty for a short while, and something flashed in her eyes. Suddenly, she said with a smile, "Okay. Since he is not here, I'll leave for now."

Hearing this, Natty finally relaxed completely. A smile spread across her face as she respectfully said, "This way, please, Mrs. Zachman."noveldrama

Katrina didn't linger. She walked past Natty and headed for the exit.

Natty quickly followed, intending to personally escort her out. Just as she was about to say something to ease the tension, she was caught off guard when Katrina suddenly changed direction and strode briskly toward the conference

room.

Natty froze, clearly not expecting Katrina to head in that direction.

And currently, in the conference room...

Natty immediately came to her senses and rushed over in a panic to stop Katrina. "Mrs. Zachman, there's a corporate meeting going on in the conference room today. I'm afraid you can't go in there."

Katrina's suspicions were confirmed when she saw Natty's frantic reaction.

Carlisle was indeed in the office.

She said nothing as she circled around Natty. Walking forward, she reached out to open the conference room door.

"Mrs. Zachman, Mr. Zachman is really away. Please don't go in—" Natty couldn't even finish her sentence. She watched helplessly as Katrina pushed open the conference room door.

The reporting inside came to an abrupt stop as everyone was drawn to the sudden interruption. When they turned their heads toward the door, they exchanged looks in

drise to see Katrina.

In their impression, Katrina was not someone who would act impulsively or disrespectfully. At the very least, she had always maintained an air of elegance and composure in any situation. en

So, what on earth had happened today for her to barge in like this during a meeting?

Carlisle no longer cared what his employees thought. He stared fiercely at the figure in the doorway, his expression stormy. He then shot Natty an icy glare.

What a useless thing! She couldn't even handle something this small.

Natty lowered her head in guilt, not daring to look at Carlisle. She hadn't expected Katrina to deceive her, make her lower her guard, and then barge into the conference room.

Plus, Katrina was Carlisle's wife, and

Natty was a mere secretary. She

didn't dare to truly stop her. If

Katrina insisted on barging in, what could she do? Physically drag her

out?

en

But she didn't dare to utter a single word and could only keep these thoughts to herself.

Katrina scanned the room, her gaze briefly landing on Carlisle before shifting away.

"This meeting is on hold. I have something to discuss with your boss." Then, she looked at Carlisle again. "Do you plan to talk here, or should we go to your office?"
