Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance

Chapter 1237

Conner sat back in his chair, exuding the confidence of a victor, looking down at those who once sneered at him, the very folks who prided themselves on thinking they were above everyone else.

That night, many met their end by his hand. The suffering his mother endured, he forced everyone to witness all over again, through the eyes of another woman.

Emmery couldn't stand watching his mother tormented to death, so he raised his gun at Conner. But before he could pull the trigger, Asher, hidden in the crowd, shot Emmery, leaving him powerless.

In the blink of an eye, Conner had his gun aimed squarely at Emmery's forehead.

Laughing maniacally, Emmery said, "Ha! Conner, I always knew only one of us would walk away from this alive. None of us are clean. According to our code, family should be spared. I lost, and I accept that. Just let Maja go."

Conner smirked, "And leave a loose end?"

"I've hidden Grandpa's body. If you want the only elder who ever had your back to be without a grave, then go ahead, kill me."

Conner gritted his teeth, "He was your grandfather too."

Emmery shrugged, "But he wasn't just mine."

"Maja, who asked you to save me? If you leave me behind, I'll haunt you, you hear me? I'm not your wife, I don't need your rescue!" Maja shouted.

A single tear rolled down Annie's cheek as she asked calmly, "So, you let my sister go?"

"Yes. Emmery, unwilling to live in shame, took his own life," Conner replied. There were only two things Emmery did that earned Conner's respect: protecting the one he loved when facing death, and choosing death over disgrace.

Annie managed a bitter smile, "I suddenly get why my sister did what she did."

She wiped her tears and gazed out at the night, murmuring, "But what about me," she had fallen for Conner too.

Conner held Annie close, gently wiping her tears, his voice unusually soft, "Annie, don't get caught up in the feud between your sister and me. I won't kill your sister; I promised you and Emmery. If I can, I'll protect her for you." He had vowed to protect those she cared for.

He knew the despair of losing loved ones and couldn't bear for Annie to go through that.

Annie turned to Conner, her eyes glistening with tears, "But my sister wants to kill you."

Trying to comfort her, Conner laughed with a hint of arrogance, "I'm the head of the family, I've defied the odds in Newtown. Who could possibly kill me?"

Annie stared at Conner, who was doing his best to reassure her, "What if I had your child, would my sister let it go then?"

"What, what?!"

The shock was overwhelming; Conner hadn't even processed it.

What did Annie just say? Whose child? She wants to have his child? That

means...noveldrama

Under the night sky, Annie, no longer calm, said, "Conner, let's have a child."

Conner was still in a daze, struggling to believe it, "Really?! Let's do it!"

He held Annie, still slow to react, until Annie, frustrated, blushed under his gaze, "If you can't even..."

Conner leaned in, kissing Annie deeply, pushing her onto the couch. The scenes he had dreamed of countless times finally came to life, as if the universe had heard his wishes and made his dreams come true.
